Title I is a federally funded program in place to support supplemental instruction for students. Sunrise offers Title I programming in the subject areas of math and reading. Students performing below grade level in math or reading are eligible for these services. Staff, families, and students work collaboratively to identify students that will benefit from title services.
Grades 1 - 5
Students are assessed during Welcome Days and at the start of the school year. Specific phonetic skills are identified as areas of need. Students with the most need receive 25 minutes of strategic Phonics instruction daily. In addition, students identified as needing intensive fluency and comprehension instruction receive an additional 25 minutes of instruction daily.
Parent Involvement
Families play a critical role in the success of students at Sunrise River School. Staff use parent feedback to plan, adjust, and create title services. Sunrise River School shares a school-parent compact with families at the start of services, and provides updates on student progress throughout the school year.
If you have any questions regarding title programming please contact the building principal.
