Minnesota Reading Corps is a statewide initiative to help every Minnesota child become a successful reader by the end of third grade. The program places AmeriCorps members in sites to implement a researched-based early-literacy effort to help struggling readers. Using student reading assessment data, Minnesota Reading Corps members provide one-on-one reading tutoring to students in grades K-3. Students selected for Minnesota Reading Corps services are provided daily 20-minute interventions specific to students' reading needs with progress monitoring happening on a weekly basis to ensure student growth.
