Assessment and Evaluation

-
The North Branch Area Public School district administers several standardized assessments to monitor student academic achievement, academic growth, and preparedness for college and career goals. The Assessment and Evaluation Department is committed to improving student achievement through gathering and analyzing program, demographic and performance data relating to state and district wide testing measures.
Some assessments are state-mandated which measure student attainment of Minnesota Grade Level Standards, school/district effectiveness, and student attainment of state graduation requirements. Other standardized tests given in the district are nationally and locally available.We assist staff to integrate data to inform educational programming, instructional decision-making and encourage data-based decision making. We promote and facilitate the use of data to better meet the needs of every student in our district.
The Assessment department facilitates and supports the administration and analysis of tests given to our students that provide information on student achievement and growth on state and national measures.
The purpose of student assessment is to:
- Provide evidence of student achievement and growth;
- Enhance student learning by informing and guiding instruction;
- Provide data for decision-making;
- Serve as accountability measures.
