High schools students share love of robotics with "VIKES"
Click here to see more photos and a video from the First Lego League team meeting on Tuesday night. The team, newly christened VIKES (Very Incredible Kids in Engineering and Science) met with members of the high school robotics team. Younger students were impressed with the images of the robot, stories of the international competition in Detroit and all the stories shared by older students. The high school students were impressed with the questions and descriptions of their work offered by younger students and a good time was had by all!
The VIKES had the opportunity to use their launch pad for the first time. They also got to see a project created by Amelia Bjerketvedt made at her STEPS for Girls camp this summer at UW Stout.
Next week, the kids will start their programming work with co-coach Eric Bjerketvedt. SKOL! and thanks to the Bjerketvedts for taking the the lead on coaching the VIKES and to Mrs. Korkowski for bring some of our high school robotics competitors over to inspire the next generation!
