It's Homecoming Week!

By Supt. Deb Henton

There is no surer sign we are approaching the heart of the fall season than Homecoming at North Branch Area High School! There are many events taking place this week and I thought I would share some of them with you.

On Monday the high school hosted the Homecoming Court Coronation in the auditorium. For students it was pajama day! Girls tennis also competed against Andover and junior varsity football against Grand Rapids. You can watch Monday’s coronation at this link:

Tuesday was Jersey Day for students, and junior varsity tennis and girls soccer played Becker here in North Branch, while boys soccer played in Becker. Volleyball was at home against Grand Rapids.

Wednesday is Dream Job day, with students dressing like they would if they had their “dream job.”

On Thursday we have junior varsity girls tennis and girls soccer at home against Monticello, boys soccer at Monticello, and volleyball at home against Big Lake. It’s also Throwback Thursday for kids, who can dress in the fashions of their favorite decade.

Friday is, of course, Spirit Day, with a pep fest happening at the stadium at 1:50 p.m. weather providing. If the weather is bad, it will be hosted in the North Gym. This year’s Homecoming Parade will start at 3:30 p.m., followed by the football team’s Homecoming match-up against Duluth East at 7 p.m.

The week comes to an end with the high school’s Homecoming Dance, which will follow Friday’s football game.

The forecast for this week looks like one for the ages, with warm temperatures and sunshine for much of the week. What better way to celebrate the season by coming out to any of these events and cheering on the Vikings? We hope to see you!
