School board looks at weather make-up recommendation
The NBAPS school board held its work session on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 5:30 p.m., in room 118 of the North Branch Area Education Center. The agenda included discussions about budgeting and the weather make-up plans. Meeting materials can be found here, and here is a podcast of the meeting.
2019-20 budget discussion: Supt. Deb Henton and school board members reviewed the work completed during the budgeting process.
Weather make-up: Consensus was reached regarding weather make-up time, which is only needed at the high school. Both Sunrise and the middle school still exceed required classroom time and do not require any make-up. The high school will meet classroom time requirements by adding 12 minutes to the existing school day starting later in March. No days were added to the school year calendar. The school board will be asked to approve the weather make-up plan at its March 7 meeting.
