At a press conference earlier this afternoon, Gov. Tim Walz announced that all school districts will go to a distance learning model starting Monday, March 30 through April 30, barring any future announcements. Further, people have been asked to stay home statewide starting Friday, at 11:59 p.m. The new announcements from the Governor do NOT affect the school district’s plans for allowing items/technology/medicines pick-up at schools tomorrow.
All staff here at North Branch Area Public Schools have been working very hard and are prepared to deliver services remotely via distance learning starting Monday!
There will be communications coming from teachers and schools over the next days and weeks and we ask for your patience as we partner with staff and families to work through any challenges that arise during the implementation of the NBAPS Distance Learning Plan. Please be sure to follow school district communications to the greatest degree possible.
The NBAPS Distance Learning Plan itself will be shared with families by Friday, March 27. It will contain vital information about the distribution of meals, school work, technology support, special education services, child care, and much more. I encourage all parents/guardians to review the Distance Learning Plan once it is received. For those without email, the plan will be posted at the school district's COVID-19 webpage on Friday: https://www.isd138.org/Page/405.
I am so grateful for all of the patience, understanding, and offers of assistance from families and community members as we prepare to meet this unprecedented challenge together. Thank you!
