If your child is between the ages 3 and 4, it is time for Early Childhood Screening. Screening is a free and simple check of your child's vision, hearing, height, weight and development, as well as a brief review of health history and immunizations. The process takes about 1 hour and a half, from start to finish.
Screening has two major purposes. It is used to determine if a child's development is on track, and to provide families with information about community and learning resources for young children.
The state of Minnesota requires that children be screened before entering kindergarten.
Please call 651-674-1220 to make sure your child's name is on the census, make an appointment, or if you have any questions.
Early Childhood Screening appointments are currently on hold due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Students who are age eligible for kindergarten during the 2020-21 school year will have the first priority for appointment when we are able to resume screening. If you have a question or concern for your child's development, please reach out to our Early Childhood & Family Services Coordinator, Erica Bjerketvedt by email at email@example.com or by phone at 651-674-1225.
