Congratulations to Norse ALC students Ada Stone, Rae Dykhoff, Megan Brynjulfson, and Jameson Gordon-Petersen for their incredible performance at the MAAP STARS Competition in Mankato on May 7–8! The MAAP organization stands for the Minnesota Association of Alternative Programs. STARS stands for Success, Teamwork, Achievement, Recognition, and Self-Esteem. The team was advised by Norse ALC teachers, Caleb Stiles and Mindy Lattimore

Competing against 21 schools, our students competed in Art Display, Community Service Project, Parent Decision Making, Team Management Decision Making, Public Speaking, and Job Interview. Our students ranked in every single event they entered. Highlights include a 1st place finish for the Community Service Project and a 2nd place finish by Ada Stone in Public Speaking out of 29 competitors. We are so proud of these students for representing Norse ALC with such excellence!

Bring the whole family for a fun, hands-on evening exploring vehicles from around our community. Kids of all ages will have the chance to get up close to amazing vehicles and meet the people who operate them.

On Monday, May 11, NBAMS 8th Grade leaders, mentees, and student council members participated in Chalk the Walk in support of Mental Health Awareness Month. They showcased their creativity and positivity through drawings and uplifting messages on the sidewalks. Nice job kids!

NBAHS Viking football players lent a hand last weekend for a North Branch community member. Players moved Dennis out of his home and into another. The kids worked quickly and shared great conversation with Dennis. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, helping and connecting our youth with a local community member and NBAHS graduate.

The players who helped were Jacob, Lucas, Mitchell, Will, Brady, Roman, Gio, Jayce, Vince, and Eli. Way to go guys!

The NBAHS grounds are looking a little brighter after a large group of JROTC students spent yesterday’s Anchor Time removing trash and debris from the surrounding area. This work was 100% planned and organized by the Cadet Leadership Team and carried out by a couple dozen volunteers. Together, they picked up seven large bags of garbage.

They'll be at it again Tuesday after school when they head down to Stacy for the Adopt-A-Highway event.

NBAHS held a walking pep rally this morning for the Adapted Bowling Team's state qualifiers. The tournament is tomorrow at Bowlero in Brooklyn Park. Ian Gilkerkson, Noah Bodsberg, Madelyn Phillips, and LeeAnn Otterson will all compete at 9 a.m. in the singles meet. Madelyn and LeeAnn will also participate at 12:15 p.m. in the doubles event.
