
PUBLIC IS WELCOME: The Viking Challenge drill competition, hosted by the North Branch Area High School Air Force Junior ROTC program, will be held at NBAHS this Friday, Nov. 3, from 10 AM until approximately 3 PM.
Cadet leaders have organized the competition and will be taking the lead role in running the event. The competition will be an opportunity for the cadets to showcase their skills in military drill as well as their academic knowledge and physical fitness. In addition, this year a drone race competition has been added to the event.
Trophies and medals will be awarded to superior performing teams and individuals. Other participating schools include Como Park H.S.,Johnson H.S., Harding H.S., St. Thomas Academy and Cretin-Derham Hall. This event is open to the public. Please enter the high school through doors 5 or 11. Visitors will be directed to the event venues.

Speakers Corner, a new effort implemented this year by the Norse Area Learning Center, brings various voices into the school to share post-secondary and career options with students. Pine Technical & Community College (PTCC) and Anoka Ramsey Community College (ARCC) have already visited. On Wednesday, Oct. 25, Norse welcomed Ecumen's Jordan Thompson, Sales and Marketing Manager and Crystal Kester, People Manager (Human Resources Manager) to share a variety of employment opportunities available to students, from resident care to office positions and culinary options. They spoke about wages, benefits, PTO, and the wonderful culture at Ecumen. It was a wonderful visit and exposed students to yet more potential opportunities.







SpongeBob Musical is coming to the NBAHS auditorium! Community Ed proudly presents this middle school production on Nov. 17 and 18 at 7 pm, and Nov. 19 at 2 p.m.

Winter sports information meetings for HS boys and girls basketball, gymnastics, and wrestling will be held on Monday, Nov. 6 at 6:30pm. The North Branch Area Hockey Association is partnering with NBAPS and the City of North Branch to upgrade the outdoor hockey rink located South of North Branch Area High School. The rink will be ready to go in time for the cold weather. Hockey brings people together!

Viking Boys Soccer is hosting an alumni game Friday, Oct. 27, at 6 pm, on the stadium field. All Viking boys soccer alums are invited to suit up against the current squad and attempt to teach the young'uns a thing or two about soccer. Do you "still got it?" See you on the 27th!

It's Fire Safety and Prevention Week! Our partners at the NBFD are meeting with students to review fire safety, and participating in fire drills at every school. Here, students at Sunrise learn about smoke alarms, "stop, drop, and roll," and the equipment used by firefighters.

Staff at Norse Area Learning Center are wearing college apparel today to celebrate the beginning of College Knowledge Month in Minnesota. The goal of College Knowledge Month is to provide every graduating high school senior with the preparation, opportunity, and support needed to apply to college.

Interested in attending NBAPS' Friday, Oct. 13 Patron Tour? Patron Tours start at 7:45 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. Guests enjoy refreshments in the morning, tour every site in the district, and finish the half day with a lunch prepared by high school ProStart students. In between guests visit classrooms and talk with staff, students, and leadership. It's a great way to learn more about NBAPS from early childhood all the way through high school!
