The unofficial special election results have been tabulated and the capital levy renewal question on the February ballot did not pass. The unofficial election results were:
Yes - 387 / 59 Absentee Votes
No - 599 / 60 Absentee Votes
The renewal would have continued funding first approved by voters in 2017. These funds support:
Cybersecurity systems that protect student and staff information
School networks and devices used for daily learning
Emergency communication and response systems
Building automation systems that support safety and energy efficiency
The renewal was not a new tax and would have maintained the current rate.
The existing levy remains in place through the end of next year. District administration will provide opportunities for community members to ask questions and share feedback before determining next steps.
