Staff at the North Branch Area Education Center are rallying behind Evelyn, a brave kindergarten student awaiting a life-saving heart transplant. Today, staff proudly wore Hearts for Evelyn shirts to show their love and support for her and her family.
Evelyn’s journey is being shared on her Facebook page, Hearts for Evelyn (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61567380579056), where you can follow her story as she waits for her new heart. Her family is also partnered with the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) — a national nonprofit that helps families like theirs raise funds for transplant-related needs, allowing them to focus on what matters most: caring for Evelyn.
Every post, picture, and update shared through Hearts for Evelyn is part of her story — and by following along, you become part of her community of hope, love, and strength.

Earlier this week the North Branch Area Education Foundation (NBAEF) hosted a pumpkin patch for early learning students it the NBAEC. They brought 250 pumpkins and set up a "patch" for the kids to select a pumpkin; there was games and snacks too. Thanks NBAEF!

It seems like the event gets a bit bigger every time and it's great to see so many faces familiar from previous events.
Today we celebrated the completion of the CR30 project, including new sidewalk from Maple St. to the library, and new crosswalks across CR30, made possible through Safe Routes to School funding doggedly pursued by the city. It's Fire Prevention Week and members of the NBFD are visiting schools giving students important safety tips like "stay low and go," "once out, stay out," and of course, "stop, drop, and roll." Students were able to inspect firefighter gear and the truck too. Thanks NBFD!

Then, Vikings football players and coaches are again hosting Viking Victory Day from 5:30 - 6:30 pm at the high school stadium. All special needs students, grades K-12, are invited to come spend some time with the team!
