Mrs. Falen’s 6th grade art students used fine motor skills, knowledge about measuring, and problem-solving abilities to make their own paper “loom”. They were challenged to go beyond the traditional “plain”, simple weave (1 over, 1 under for the entire row, alternating with 1 under, 1 over for the next row). They used their creativity to alter the weft strips, the weaving pattern, and possibly the loom itself to make 3 different weavings each. Students were very proud of their work!
