5th graders in Mrs. John and Mrs. Peters class kicked off Mission to Mars STEM kits last week. We will be working on planning a mission to Mars including designing the base and energy systems, conducting experiments on various items, programming a rover and so much more. The STEM kits allow students to apply their math and science skills in a fun and innovative way! All of 5th grade is using the kits courtesy of Starbase MN!

The weather Wednesday morning is looking great for Walk and Roll! NBAPS, the City of North Branch, and Chisago County SHIP are hosting Walk and Roll to School on Wed., May 8, at 7:05 am. We meet at the NB Library and head out with our friends from the NBPD and the NBFD. Join us!


At Sunrise this week, the 8th Grade Band performed for the 5th Grade. Fifth graders will soon have the opportunity to sign up for 6th grade choir and band. THIS JUST IN: A huge Viking congratulations to Amelia Bjerketvedt, who has placed 2nd in the world at the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, CA - the pinnacle of DECA competition. North Branch DECA has its first ever piece of DECA glass! Way to go Amelia!

The North Branch Area Education Foundation is hosting Designer Purse and Yeti Bingo on April 28 at Lent Town Hall. Doors open at noon, sales at 1 pm, and Bingo at 2 pm. Proceeds go to enhancing opportunities for students at NBAPS! See flier for more details.

Students in the NBAPS American Indian Education Program made drums by hand recently as part of the Weekly Native Culture Nights series. In upcoming sessions, students will learn more about will drum and dance and sewing.





Due to weather conditions, after-school district events and activities are canceled for today. This includes sports and activities, parent-teacher conferences and Community Education events.
Youth Connections will remain open as regularly scheduled. Information about rescheduled parent-teacher conferences will come from each school.
School will be released 10 minutes earlier than normal to allow extra time for a safe ride home. This early release is not expected to change the time students arrive at home- the purpose is to prioritize more time in response to road conditions.
