The Vikettes are hosting a Prep Clinic, May 6-8, at Sunrise.
This clinic is designed for dancers in 4th-6th grade interested in building foundational dance team skills in a positive and supportive environment. Participants will work on strength, flexibility, kicks, and performance quality, while learning choreography led by the Vikettes coaches. This clinic is a great opportunity to develop skills, gain confidence, and get a preview of the dance team experience!

In 8th grade, math students worked with Scientific Notation by doing the Scoville Heat Units Lab. Students tested a variety of salsas, used a sugar water solution to dissipate the pepper's heat and collected the data.
The sugar water solution was measured in drops, therefore, really hot peppers have quite large numbers. Because of this, those numbers are often written in scientific notation, which is why the measurement is named Scoville Heat Units (SHU). The data will then be averaged within their group and shared to compare against the whole group.

Bring old tax records, outdated files, and sensitive documents to be securely shredded by Marco Technologies. This is a free community event, and Empire will donate $10 to Lakes Center for each bag or box shredded, up to $500.
Coffee and snacks will be provided, and attendees can enter to win a one year AAA Roadside Assistance Membership.
