Thanks to the City of North Branch, Chisago County SHIP, the NBPD and the NBFD, and all the students and parents for joining us this morning for a rather brisk Walk and Roll to School! It seems like the event gets a bit bigger every time and it's great to see so many faces familiar from previous events.

Today we celebrated the completion of the CR30 project, including new sidewalk from Maple St. to the library, and new crosswalks across CR30, made possible through Safe Routes to School funding doggedly pursued by the city. Many thanks to Community Development Director Nate Sondrol for his work to secure planning and construction funds! You can see all of the photos from the event here: https://www.facebook.com/nbapschools/posts/pfbid02VDcQ5RbEU3RuzjqUHrSv7bVT9FjzMWVBVXP49ig3GDyJLs2UkowVgFyjiCmXQ8F1l

A tip of the cap to these four students in Autos 3! Eli K., Caleb O., Grant L., and Anthony S. are using the skills learned in class to make repairs to trikes from Sunrise. Trikes are an important tool for the Sunrise SPED department. They help students develop motor skills, build muscle, improve coordination, and provide low impact exercise. Skol gents!

Two fun events are happening this Wednesday!
Join NBAPS, the City of North Branch, and Chisago County SHIP for the fall Walk and Roll to School, starting at St. Gregory's Church at the intersection of CR-30 and Maple St. It's a great way to get outside, get some exercise, and make new friends! We'll see you there on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 7:05 am.

Then, Vikings football players and coaches are again hosting Viking Victory Day from 5:30 - 6:30 pm at the high school stadium. All special needs students, grades K-12, are invited to come spend some time with the team!

See fliers for additional details.

High School Autos students are trying something new this year. Autos 3 adds "business sense" to the curriculum, offering students the chance to learn more about what it takes to run a successful shop. Students are providing auto detailing to interested staff for $30. Students manage the business, handling all email requests, scheduling, doing the work, and keeping track of supplies that need to be ordered.

Congratulations to Hannah Wirtz (10th grade) and Logen Schedlbauer (11th)! They were recognized this week as the 5th and 6th NBAHS students to complete the Ford ACE program.

Representatives of Anderson Koch Ford, Ford corporate, school staff, and family were on hand to celebrate Hannah and Logen's accomplishment. Ford presented each with a DeWalt impact wrench and noted that NBAHS has had more students complete the ACE program than any school in the region and, perhaps, the entire midwest.

SKOL! to these enterprising Vikings!
