Congratulations to our State Speech Qualifiers! Tori White placed 3rd in Humorous Interpretation, and Zach Petrik earned 3rd in Storytelling! They're headed to the MSHSL State Meet next Friday, April 24, at Park Center High School. NBAHS is holding a walking pep rally for Tori and Zach on Thursday, April 23, at 9:45 am.

Tori White has also qualified for NIETOC, which is the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions taking place in Shakopee this year. This is a highly competitive, invite-only national tournament that requires bids to be earned by students who excel in their categories.

NBAMS 7th grade art students were challenged to free-hand draw a realistic insect of their choice. They broke up the body and wings into shapes, then used either pointillism, hatching or crosshatching to give dimension and a variety of values to their insect. Students had total freedom on the background. One dragonfly even has pickles behind it! Proud art teacher is Lee Ann Falen.

NBAHS is pleased to announce that senior Brooke Giese is our 2025 Athena Award winner! Giese was one of five senior female athletes nominated by NBAHS head coaches, then selected for the honor based on her outstanding athletic accomplishments by vote from the school's coaching staff. Head girls track coach Norm Nagel of Giese said, “Brooke is a team leader by encouraging her teammates to perform their best. She serves as a role model for younger female athletes. She is well liked by other athletes and coaches due to her discipline, attention to detail, and outstanding work ethic.”

Brooke's post graduation plans are to pursue a nursing degree while participating in Track & Field. She will be recognized along with 45 other member schools' recipients at the 32nd Annual St. Paul Athena Awards Event on Wednesday, April 15.

What an amazing Grandparents Day Open House!

We welcomed over 300 adults and 130 children for a fun-filled evening. Grandparents, family members, and friends were invited to explore the school alongside a special preschooler in their lives.

Families enjoyed board games, playdough, dramatic play, building activities, crafts, snacks, and a photo booth.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We loved seeing our classrooms filled with so much joy and connection!

Norse Area Learning Center is coordinating a food drive for the local Family Pathways food shelf. Students have set a goal of collecting at least 500 items!

Anyone interested in donating can drop off items at the North Branch Area Education Center, North Branch Area High School, or the Norse ALC–Brooker Building. For suggested donation items, please see the attached flyer.

Ms. Carmen and Ms. Lorie’s classrooms had an amazing day counting, comparing, dancing, singing, and snacking with the numbers 6 and 7. From creative activities to joyful movement, our students brought learning to life in the most fun and engaging ways!
