Student's in Heisick's 7th and 8th grade classes battled in the Marshmallow Igloo Challenge. Students had to create an Igloo that followed the expectations of circular walls, domed roof, and could fit a lego figure inside. A wide variety of engineering strategies were used, but fun times were had by all!

Eighth grade art students just finished their Mixed Media Mannequin projects. Each student drew 2 of the 12” wooden mannequins, posing them in a way to convey their chosen theme. Each mannequin was highlighted with a white charcoal pencil and shaded with an Ebony pencil to match their light source, cut out and placed in the best layout to fit their idea. They also chose background paper and had to incorporate at least one paint “splotch” to further fit their theme. Students chose a wide variety of themes, including: baseball, volleyball, music, the balance of ying and yang, dancing, surf boarding, paint ball, playing the piano, soccer and even various emotional states of mind. Proud art teacher is Lee Ann Falen.

On Saturday, December 7, members of NBAHS Student Council volunteered at Miracle at Big Rock in St. Croix Falls, WI. Some members dressed up as popular holiday characters and posed for pictures with attendees. Others volunteered as photographers at the many popular backdrops. It was a great way to get into the holiday spirit!

Show your support by ordering exclusive event apparel. Each purchase helps us raise awareness and stand united in support of the individuals and families impacted by cancer. Together, as a hockey family, we can make a difference—one shift at a time. Come to the game and honor who you fight for by completing a support sign as well. COMPLETE THE FORM MULTIPLE TIMES FOR ADDITIONAL ORDERS. Full payment needs to be turned in by Sunday, Dec. 8 to Heidi Sanders or Alicia Overby. Last Wednesday, the NBAHS auto program received a donation of a 2008 Chevy Impala from JPC Auto Sales. This car couldn't have been donated without the help of KNH Autos. The owner of KNH Autos (Mitch Laska) is a former North Branch student. KNH Autos did an inspection on the car the morning of donation to make sure the car was safe for the students. During the inspection they found that the car had a gas line leak. KNH Autos fixed the issue and paid for all parts and labor so that JPC Auto Sales LLC could get the car donated to the school. Thanks to JPC and KNH! Pictured are (l to r): NBAHS Principal Clint Link, Jason Trester (Co Owner of JCP Auto Sales), Joseph Cunningham (Co-Owner of JCP Auto Sales), Tylor Sorgert, NBAHS automotive teacher, and David Treichel, Director of Teaching and Learning.

8th Grade students in World Cultures finished up their Foods Around the World with a taste testing day. They got to experience 10 different foods from 8 different countries coming from 5 of the continents. Tostadas were by far the fan favorite and Vegemite was voted least likely to eat again. Overall, it was a fun experience and everyone had a great time.
