Speakers Corner, a new effort implemented this year by the Norse Area Learning Center, brings various voices into the school to share post-secondary and career options with students. Pine Technical & Community College (PTCC) and Anoka Ramsey Community College (ARCC) have already visited. On Wednesday, Oct. 25, Norse welcomed Ecumen's Jordan Thompson, Sales and Marketing Manager and Crystal Kester, People Manager (Human Resources Manager) to share a variety of employment opportunities available to students, from resident care to office positions and culinary options. They spoke about wages, benefits, PTO, and the wonderful culture at Ecumen. It was a wonderful visit and exposed students to yet more potential opportunities.

Fifth graders in Mrs John and Mrs Peters classes wrote creative spooky stories, including sensory details. Then, they drew “spooky eyeballs” to go with the stories. Students read their stories aloud to classmates with the lights off and thunderstorm sounds in the background. Boo!
